A number of factors, including the strength of the Aussie dollar, meant few cars found new homes at the auction, although a number of post-auction sales boosted the overall results.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights included a restored <!--more-->Messerschmitt KR200, selling for a strong price of $34,100 after some determined bidding within the room and a 1998 Jordan Formula 1 display car that sold for $51,700. Other performers were the beautiful Aston Martin DB4 Series III that sold for $275,000 and the post sale of the 1997 Bathurst-winning Holden Commodore achieved a strong price of $285,000.<\/p>\n<p>CTS comments on the sale, &#8220;An almost total lack of any serious oversees bidding in light of the current strength of the Australian dollar was more problematic than usual due to the large selection of high value or &#8216;big ticket&#8217; cars that the Australian market was perhaps not able to absorb over the course of one night.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CTS continues, &#8220;The team took a number of positives from the sale and given some tweaks to the running of the actual event, a change of timing and a reduced focus on \u2018world value cars\u2019 whilst the Australian dollars strength continues, we are confident that the lessons learnt from our first event will assist us in having a far more successful sales result next time round.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For complete results, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctsauctions.com\/lots01.htm\">CTS Auctions December 2009 Sale<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>CTS Auctions&#8217; next sale is scheduled for April 2010 in Melbourne.
