{"id":491286,"date":"2010-05-01T03:02:33","date_gmt":"2010-05-01T10:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=41062"},"modified":"2023-12-18T10:55:43","modified_gmt":"2023-12-18T10:55:43","slug":"hgp-in-montreal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/hgp-in-montreal\/","title":{"rendered":"Historic Grand Prix in Montreal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Octane Racing Group, promoter of the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, has announced that Historic Grand Prix will provide one of the supporting events at this year\u2019s Formula One World Championship race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on the weekend of June 11\u201313.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to bring back to the Grand Prix du Canada, a group of passionate aficionados that offers a spectacular show and also enjoys taking the time to talk with fans who visit with them in the paddock,\u201d said Fran\u00e7ois Dumontier, president of Octane. \u201cEach time they go on track, it is one of the most popular moments of the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have fond memories from our last visit to Montr\u00e9al in 2004, and that is why we are thrilled to be invited to the 2010 Grand Prix du Canada,\u201d said James King, co-director of HGP. \u201cOur owners\/drivers are as enthusiastic about the sport as the fans attending the race. We are quite accessible to the public and willing to share stories about our cars and the men who drove them in the day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HGP intends to showcase some 30 cars from F1\u2019s first three-liter era between 1967 and 1982, including two of the Ferraris raced by the man for whom the circuit is named, a 1978 312 T4 and a 1979 312 T5.
