Half a century ago, if your perfectly good sports car were damaged in an accident, you had options. One such option, available starting in the late 1950s, was rather than repairing the body, you could replace it with a completely different body that was made out of a relatively new material\u2014fiberglass.<\/p>\n

Any restoration today, be it a competition or road car, is rife with challenges, and most of these usually have a large $ sign connected in some way or another. Engine rebuilds may be expensive, but have you looked at the current hourly figure being charged by any worthwhile body fabricator? However the money is spent, it would be very surprising if any thought is given today to the fitting of a non-original body, especially one made from fiberglass.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
