Wherever the gavel is hammered, one can be certin that some of the highest prices realized will come at an auction hosted by David Gooding and Scottsdale was no exception.\u00a0 With total results of $39.8 million (exceeding last year\u2019s take by almost $5 million), Gooding\u2019s led the way with two of the three highest sales during the week.\u00a0 Almost every lot offered was rare, interesting or exceptional (in many cases all three) with the open-headlight 250 GT California surprising many at almost $4 million and the world-record price for the Alloy Gullwing drawing the air out of\u00a0 the room in awe. Even the affordable lots from marques such as MG and Triumph drew impressive results with $77,000 for an MGA Twin-Cam Roadster and $59,4000 for a compelling small mouth 1957 Triumph TR3.<\/p>\n
