{"id":492335,"date":"2012-05-01T05:00:19","date_gmt":"2012-05-01T12:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=28241"},"modified":"2024-01-04T22:03:36","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T22:03:36","slug":"product-reviews-may-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/product-reviews-may-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"[Book Review] Formula One \u2013 All the Races"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Formula One \u2013 All the Races<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">By Roger Smith<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This mighty 600 page-tome is the Formula One race version of Steve Small\u2019s Grand Prix Who\u2019s Who, where Small provides a cameo of each and every Grand Prix driver\u2019s career, where Roger Smith does the same for each of the 858 races from the World Championship since its inception in May 1950 to the last race of the 2011 season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Usually, books containing mainly statistics are rather dry, and one can easily get lost in a sea of figures. However, Smith puts a \u201clittle meat on the bone\u201d by illuminating the statistics with \u201cTales of the Title\u201d\u2014an overview of the season in bullet points, a hundred or so words to describe the race, and concludes with a summary of the racing season together with \u201cFacts and Folklore.\u201d The text is interspersed with both period photos (mainly color) and sketches of the competing cars. The presentation, layout and color sections all contribute to making this book very easy to use and understand.
