However, Mark decided to specialize in the body building industry or what is also known as coachbuilding.<\/p>\n<p>After serving his apprenticeship with a Sydney-based restoration business, Mark set off to the UK and worked for Crailville Traditional Coachbuilders. On his return to Australia, Mark set up business operating out of his father\u2019s premises until 2001 when Kevin sold the business and is now working with his son in new specialized premises.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/TR201207-p1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-717287\" src=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/TR201207-p1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/TR201207-p1.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/TR201207-p1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/TR201207-p1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/TR201207-p1-100x75.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/TR201207-p1-770x578.jpg 770w, https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/TR201207-p1-293x220.jpg 293w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2007, Mark was awarded a Churchill Fellowship \u201cTo study the techniques used by traditional coachbuilding firms to design and fabricate the bodywork on vintage and classic cars.\u201d Mark\u2019s study included travel through England, Germany, France and Italy to observe the use of not only the English wheel, but also the Eckold Kraftformer that is widely used in Germany and Italy. He remarks that he came home very impressed.<\/p>\n<p>Since then Nugent Coachbuilding has built a worldwide reputation for fine craftsmanship and has attracted interest not only from within Australia, but the U.S. as well. Work currently underway includes the recreation of a W 194 Gullwing Prototype and a BMW 328 Carrozzeria Touring Roadster.
