Born of a partnership between Ford and Cosworth Engineering, it would go on to become the single most successful engine in F1 history. The first of these new power plants would debut as load-bearing members of the Lotus 49 chassis to be driven by Jim Clark and Graham Hill at that year\u2019s Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort.
