Corvette previously enjoyed featured marque status in 2002.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCorvettes and racing have been inextricably linked since the very moment Zora Arkus-Duntov slipped behind the wheel for the first time,\u201d said Chris Perry, Chevrolet\u2019s global vice president of marketing. \u201cHis spirit is felt in today\u2019s winning Corvette Racing program, which continues a proud legacy and one we\u2019re looking forward to celebrating next summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Corvette\u2019s lengthy racing heritage began at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1956 with three Corvettes under Duntov\u2019s direction, and by 1960 Briggs Cunningham was taking a trio of Corvette racecars to Le Mans where John Fitch and Bob Grossman gave the marque a grand debut by winning the GT class and running 8th overall.
