RM Auctions will offer at no reserve the Charlie Thomas Collection on October 20th, 2012 at the Gaylord Texan near Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n

The product of two decades of acquisition by Texas businessman, life-long auto enthusiast and former owner of the Houston Rockets basketball team, Charlie Thomas, the \u201cTexas-sized\u201d collection features 175 collector cars and spans the spectrum of the collector car market from early flatheads to \u201950s convertibles and \u201960s muscle and sports cars.<\/p>\n

\u201cRM Auctions is honored and delighted to have been chosen to assist Charlie Thomas with the dispersal of his collection,\u201d says Gord Duff, Car Specialist, RM Auctions. \u201cWith a great eye for correct, quality examples of American iron from the pre-war and post-war periods, his collection truly has something for everyone, and he\u2019s taken great pride in regularly exercising these cars to ensure they run and drive beautifully.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among highlights of the Charlie Thomas Collection are a series of more than 80 Fords, including multiple Shelbys, and more than 40 Chevrolets, joined by numerous examples from other American marques, including Cadillac, Chrysler, Packard, and Oldsmobile, among others. All lots are offered without reserve.<\/p>\n

Reflecting Charlie Thomas\u2019 life-long affinity for the Blue Oval, the sale will feature more than 80 Fords. Highlights include:<\/p>\n

Lot 121 \u2013 1941 Ford Super DeLuxe Convertible, Chassis 186382732, Est. $50,000 – $70,000. This Super DeLuxe Convertible is the top of the line offering of Ford\u2019s 1941 models aimed at answering the growing consumer demand for more interior room; presented in Cayuga Blue with deep red LeBaron Bonney leather interior and a tan top.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Lot 203 \u2013 1954 Ford Crestline Skyliner \u2018Glass Roof\u2019 Two-Door Hardtop, Chassis U4NF116788, Est. $40,000 – $50,000. One of 200 demonstrators created by the factory to showcase the new overhead valve 239 V-8, this fully-loaded, well-documented, showroom Ford features a special factory-installed hood with clear panels that allows enthusiasts to see inside the engine bay without lifting the hood. Notably, it is equipped with a special light bar mounted to the hood to illuminate the engine.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Lot 172 \u2013 1957 Chevrolet Corvette \u2018Fuel-Injected\u2019 Convertible, Chassis VE57S104538, Est. $125,000 – $150,000. This example is one of only 102 units fitted with the code \u2018CK\u2019 283 fuel-injected V-8 rated at 250 horsepower.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u2022 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible, equipped with power windows and convertible top along with a Wonderbar radio (est. $85,000 – $100,000);
