Mr. Davis, who is also Minister of Works and Urban Development, toured the site in a Jaguar XKE driven by Speed Week President Jimmie Lowe and noted the government\u2019s plans to transform the event site in the area of West Bay St. known as Fish Fry, by widening roads and improving landscaping to enhance the annual event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Widening those roads would allow for actual wheel-to-wheel racing among entrants as opposed to the single-car runs in the Time Trials that featured in last year\u2019s inaugural Revival.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOn behalf of my Government,\u201d said Mr. Davis, \u201cI would like to say that we fully support Bahamas Speed Week and recognize the value that Speed Week represents, including tremendous international exposure, and what it can mean to the country as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bahamas Director of Sports Tourism, Tyrone Sawyer, also confirmed the support: \u201cThe Ministry of Tourism has an unflinching commitment to Bahamas Speed Week. It is one of the premier events in the calendar year, and we are very happy to support it in every way we can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The second annual Bahamas Speed Week Revival, with Brian Redman serving as Grand Marshal, will take place November 24\u2013December 2 in Nassau.
