Organizers expect up to 1,000 requests for entry into America&#8217;s premier historic car race, one of the anchor events of Monterey Classic Car Week.<\/p>\n<p>The Governing Committee established sixteen race groups for next year&#8217;s historic races, ranging from early pre-war cars up to more modern-day early \u201890s GTO cars.Each car accepted will be based on its authenticity, race provenance and the historical accuracy of its mechanical preparation and livery. Notable racing classes include Formula 1 machines from 1966 to 1984 and Porsche 911 race cars from 1964 to 1973.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2013 &#8211; Race Groups<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FIA (1973-1982)<\/li>\n<li>Formula 1 (1966-1984)<\/li>\n<li>Formula Junior (1958-1963)<\/li>\n<li>GT (1955-1962)<\/li>\n<li>GT over 2500cc (1963-1966)<\/li>\n<li>GT under 2500cc (1961-1966)<\/li>\n<li>GTO (1989-1992)<\/li>\n<li>GTU (1973-1982)<\/li>\n<li>GTX AAGT (1973-1982)<\/li>\n<li>IMSA GT (1973-1982)<\/li>\n<li>Porsche 911 (1964-1973)<\/li>\n<li>Racing (1927-1951)<\/li>\n<li>Sports Racing and GT (1947-1955)<\/li>\n<li>Sports Racing and Touring (Pre-1940)<\/li>\n<li>Sports Racing over 2000cc (1955-1961)<\/li>\n<li>Sports Racing under 2000cc (1955-1961)<\/li>\n<li>Sports Racing under 2000cc (1970-1979)<\/li>\n<li>Sports Racing USRRC (1960-1968)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette, which has steadfastly retained its recognition as America\u2019s sports car. Organizers expect thousands of Corvette enthusiasts to descend on the Monterey Peninsula to participate in the racing, Corvette Corral, parade laps and all the celebrations associated with the featured Chevrolet Corvette marque.<\/p>\n<p>Gill Campbell, CEO\/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, says, &#8220;The cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me of motor racing&#8217;s history will fill the paddock. The <a title=\"2012 Monterey Motorsports Pre-Reunion\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/monterey-motorsports-pre-reunion-2011-photo-gallery\/\">Monterey Pre-Reunion<\/a> provides participants with considerable track time in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>Advance tickets to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion go on sale December 12, 2012. General admission tickets begin at $50 (Friday) and a three-day ticket is $130, which includes a complimentary souvenir magazine. Hospitality packages begin at $200 per person.
