It\u2019s the end of October as I write this, which is fitting, because I\u2019m being haunted\u2026by one of my former racecars.<\/p>\n

I received an email from a friend, \u201cHey, your old Lotus has just been listed on eBay.\u201d Unable to resist the temptation, I logged on and scoured through a number of listings until I found it. Sure enough, there was my old Lotus 51. First, I looked through all the pictures and was pleasantly surprised to see the car looked in much the same shape as when I reluctantly sold it some 10-plus years ago. Still had the same unique (for a Lotus, at least) blue, with red and white-bordered stripes, same red leather seat, all the original factory bits, which I had so painstakingly restored all those years ago. Seeing all these pictures of my car in someone else\u2019s garage was a little surreal. Kind of like bumping into your high school sweetheart in the supermarket and seeing that she\u2019s still just as hot as the old days, but now married with kids!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
