VR<\/i>: You were born in Mexico, as I understand.<\/b><\/p>\n

TG:<\/b> Yes, I was born in Mexico City in 1935. My dad was a civil engineer and had worked, when he was a young engineer, in Latin America so he spoke excellent Spanish. He was one of the more important developers within Mexico City. He built many, many buildings, theaters, built a whole subdivision called Linda Vista, which has become, probably one of the main residential communities in that part of Mexico. So yes, I was born there and went to school through probably about the fourth or fifth grade before I came back up here. My mom was very much an American and it got to the point where she just absolutely wanted us to be brought up in the United States. So, my parents bought a home in San Diego again in \u201947-\u201948 and I started to become an American when I started going to school back here in San Diego.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
