Over the last 27 years, the Italian Car Day at the Brooklands Museum (May 4, 2013) has grown to become not only the UK\u2019s top event for owners and admirers of all things Italian, but also the largest gathering of Italian cars in the country. Anyone arriving in any Italian car, be it a Fiat or a Ferrari, is able to park in the areas reserved for the relevant marque and model, and hence to become part of the display. Another reason for the event\u2019s success is that it\u2019s far more than a static show: selected cars are demonstrated both on the demanding Brooklands test hill, and on the circuit at the adjacent Mercedes-Benz World.<\/p>\n

In addition, the many car clubs and registers that sign up to the event have their own dedicated areas. It is a social event for Italophiles as much as an unrivalled exhibition of everything from modern Ferrari supercars to quirky little Fiats of the past, plus Maseratis, Lamborghinis and a vast range of rare and fascinating marques: Abarth, Bizzarrini, De Tomaso, Innocenti, Moretti, Siata and a great many more.<\/p>\n

Alfa Romeo, of course, is always a prime part of the action, but 2013 will bring a special celebration in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Giulia Bertone coup\u00e9. The official press launch was on September 9, 1963, at the newly opened Arese factory and, to mark this milestone, the Alfa Romeo Owners\u2019 Club\u2019s Giulia 105 Register is arranging a dedicated parking area for up to 30 Bertone coup\u00e9s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
