A question remains:\u2008Why it was so unsuccessful in racing during most of the 1950s? Had it been better managed, it should have vied with Ferrari.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">David Brown had inherited an industrial empire, which he grew to encompass ship building and tractors. He had wanted to race cars, but family pressure prevented that.
