The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2013 was held Sunday, August 18th at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California. Nearly 250 automotive treasures lined the 18th hole of the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links for the 63rd annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, with a total of 28 classes including feature and special classes. Early morning fog and anxious entrants later gave way to bits of sunshine and enormous crowds clamoring about to view the wonderful selection of cars and motorcycles.<\/p>\n

The featured classes Early Race Cars, Competition Porsche 911, Vanvooren Coachwork, BMW 507 and Lincoln Custom Coachwork enjoyed premier show field placement set against the Pacific Ocean. The breathtaking display of nearly 30 Alfa Romeo 8C models — on their way to a spirited 1,000-mile tour of the Rocky Mountains — were also situated in prime position nearby the tee to the 18th hole.<\/p>\n

Best of Show at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours was awarded to the 1934 Packard 1108 Twelve Dietrich Convertible Victoria of Joseph and Margie Cassini III. The Packard Twelve is considered by many to be one of the finest automobiles produced by Packard and one of the most significant creations of the Classic Era. This was the second time Joseph and Margie Cassini have taken \u201cBest of Show\u201d at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, having won in 2004 with a 1938 Horch 853A Erdmann & Rossi Sport Cabriolet. The couple from West Orange, New Jersey were also nominated for Best of Show last year with their 1931 Duesenberg J Derham Tourster.<\/p>\n

Other nominees for Best of Show included a 1932 Lincoln KB Murphy Roadster owned by John and Heather Mozart of Palo Alto, California; a 1934 Hispano-Suiza J12 Vanvooren Coup\u00e9 owned by The Honorable Sir Michael Kadoorie of Hong Kong; and a 1914 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Van den Plas Belgium Torpedo owned by Dr. Terry Bramall CBE of Harrogate, England.<\/p>\n

The 64th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2014.<\/p>\n
