Sanctioned by Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), the debut event saw a banner field of entrants tackle the challenging road course that annually hosts the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. The more than 500 vintage race cars competed in 12 classes with a national champion crowned in each class.<\/p>\n<p>The COTA event served as the final round of the 2013 Formula 5000 Drivers Association&#8217;s Revival Race Series.<\/p>\n<p>Seb Coppola, who came to the race leading in the points standing, was crowned Class A Formula 5000 Champion. Paul Wilson was crowned Champion in Class B with his repeat wins on Friday and Saturday, although coming to the finale trailing Rick Parsons with 12 points in his class. Wilson also received the SVRA 2013 National Championship Helmet with his F5000 Class B win on Saturday, while Tony Adamowicz finished first in F5000 Class A (pre-1972 cars) driving the 1969 Gurney Eagle in which he won the 1969 F5000 Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Other interesting and notable cars at the 2013 SVRA U.S. Nationals included the 1911 National Indy; 1992 Toyota IMSA GTP Eagle MKIII; 1925 Bugatti Type 35A Grand Prix; 1939 Maserati 4CL; 1959 Aston Martin DB4; 1969 Ford GT40; 1986 Porsche 962; 2005 Audi R8 LMP; 2006 Porsche RS Spyder; 1953 Cooper &#8216;Pooper&#8217; Porsche; 1954 Kurtis 500KK and a host of fantastic Formula 1 and Can-Am entries.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to David Ferguson&#8217;s <a title=\"2013 SVRA U.S. Vintage National Championship\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/svra-us-vintage-racing-national-championship-2013-report-and-photos\/\">report and photos<\/a>, photographer Michael DiPleco also documented the 2013 U.S. Vintage Racing National Championship by SVRA, offering the following pictures of the historic race cars navigating Circuit of the Americas.
