The beautiful grounds of The Club at Las Campanas, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, played host to an impressive field of automobiles and guests on September 27-29, for the Santa Fe Concorso. Similar to Amelia Island and the Concours of the Americas, the Santa Fe Concorso awards two Best of Show winners. This year the \u201cBest of Show-Elegance\u201d went to a 1933 Delage D8S Sports Coup\u00e9 owned by John Hayden Groendyke of Enid, Oklahoma. This Delage is a sporty French gran tourer in elegant coup\u00e9 form and is one of just 99 D8S models produced. Less than 20 D8S cars are\u00a0 believed to have survived and this car is\u00a0 believed to be the only Delage D8S bodied by British coachbuilder Freestone & Webb, Ltd.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Among the sports and competition vehicles, the award for \u201cBest of Show-Sport\u201d went to a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTS\/4 NART Spider owned by Lawrence Auriana of Greenwich, Connecticut. Of the 10 NART Spiders constructed, Auriana\u2019s car played a starring role in the 1968 motion picture, The Thomas Crown Affair, staring Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen, as well as having been raced by Denise McCluggage and Marianne “Pinky” Rollo to 2nd in class in the 1967 12 Hours of Sebring.<\/p>\n

McCluggage was present at the Concorso to receive the prestigious Lee Iacocca Award, which was established to recognize outstanding classic car enthusiasts for their \u201cDedication to Excellence in Perpetuating an American Automotive Tradition.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
