The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction 2014 was held January 12-19 at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona, resulting in more than $113 million in gross sales. The total from the 43rd annual auction was the highest in company history, with nearly 1,400 vehicles sold and an estimated 300,000 attendees.<\/p>\n
The top result at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale sale went to the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Coupe that brought $3,850,000, making it the most expensive Corvette ever to sell at an auction.Other vehicles that broke world records included the 1967 Corvette L88 that sold for $2,860,000 and the 1957 Thunderbird E Convertible that made $330,000. Additional result of note included the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe, with Sir Stirling Moss riding shotgun across the block, that sold for $2,090,000. In total, the 16 Salon Collection vehicles sold for more than $22 million.<\/p>\n

The week also lived up to Barrett-Jackson\u2019s legacy of working with the auto industry and motorsports to raise money for local and national charities. The company consigned a custom Ford truck benefiting The Children\u2019s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan Foundation. Rusty Wallace auctioned a car to benefit the NASCAR Foundation and Kurt Busch was present, supporting the Armed Forces Foundation. These unique cars, among the others that were offered for charity, raised over $4.4 million.<\/p>\n
