The May 1-4 event will mark the 100th anniversary of the 1914 race when 14 manufacturers from six nations took part, running 20 laps of a 37.66-kilometer circuit through the nearby countryside and culminating in a 1-2-3 victory sweep for Mercedes. Also observed will be the 90th anniversary of the 1924 event, comprised of 35 laps around the 23.145-km Givors circuit and won by Giuseppi Campari in a supercharged Alfa Romeo P2, and the 1947 contest, 70 laps over a shorter, 7.29-kilometer layout with victory claimed by Louis Chiron in a Talbot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This will be a demonstration event for vintage cars on closed roads, following the itinerary of the 1924 event. Vehicles eligible for participation will include: original automobiles that actually raced in the three Grand Prix races; sports cars, grand sport cars and racing cars from that period; and some later models may be admitted at the discretion of the organizers.
