The event is a 100-mile tour of the Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire countryside, and open to vehicles first registered during the 20th Century (prior to the year 2000). It is limited to 50 entrants on a first-come first-served basis. The entry fee of \u00a390 includes a driver and a co-driver. Further passengers can join in at \u00a335 per head. We\u2019re pleased to say we have a number of entrants who have signed up already.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i>VR<\/i>\u2019s European Editor, Mike Jiggle, said, \u201cI want <i>Vintage Racecar\/Vintage Roadcar<\/i> to stand for more than a magazine dropped through a subscriber\u2019s door each month. I want them to experience different events, of which this is the first.\u00a0 Others planned for this year include an evening, or lunch, with a motor racing celebrity, a Concours and a possible further tour at the close of the season. I trust this will appeal to <i>VR<\/i> readers, and underlines that our magazine is driven by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, thus encouraging others to take a look.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each vehicle will be issued with an Event Plate and a \u201cTulip\u201d-style route book. All entrants and co-drivers will get a \u201cFinisher\u2019s Medal,\u201d with further prizes on offer for various categories, ie; Oldest Vehicle Entered, Best Period Dressed Occupants, Best \u201cturned out\u201d Car, Most Interesting Vehicle and a Spirit of the Event Trophy. Each entrant will also get a free 12-month subscription to <i>Vintage Racecar\/Vintage Roadcar<\/i>. Existing subscribers are eligible for a discounted entry fee and will be given a 25 percent discount voucher for their renewal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The tour will start from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre at Quainton, with vehicles arriving from around 8 a.m.\u00a0 Following refreshments the first vehicles will depart at around 9:30 a.m. and set off at regular intervals. The Tulip-style route books will be given out on the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are pleased to announce that Phil Garratt and Kieron Brown, winners of the 2013 Peking to Paris Rally, will be the first away in their 1937 Chevy Fangio Coupe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There will be two stops on the tour for a leg stretch and photos; one at The Boat House, PH, near Braunston Marina and the other at RAF Museum at Sywell Aerodrome. The final stop will be at Turweston Aerodrome, just south of Silverstone. Here further refreshment and prize giving will take place at the Conference Centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A raffle in aid of <i>NARA \u2013 The Breathing Charity<\/i>, which will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary, will be drawn for a 1st Prize of a trip to the Laon Historique, France, in June (kindly given by Scenic and Continental Car Tours) plus many other prizes.
