The Vintage Racing Club of British Columbia (VRCBC) has announced that the 27th annual British Columbia Historic Motor Races (BCHMR) will be held August 16 and 17, 2014, on the road course at Mission Raceway Park in Mission, British Columbia.<\/p>\n

First run in 1976 at the famous Westwood Circuit in nearby Coquitlam, the BCHMR moved to its current home at the multi-purpose racing complex in Mission when Westwood was closed, and remains the largest vintage race meeting in Western Canada.<\/p>\n

This year the event is bringing back the popular Hagerty Formula Festival featuring purebred open-wheel and sports racing cars. Plans also include a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the arrival of Japanese sports cars in Canada. Several of these historic cars will be participating in the racing as well as in a Sunday afternoon parade. The BCHMR also appeals to classic car enthusiasts who can display their machines in a special spectator area known as \u201cThe Field of Dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n

The VRCBC is currently working on a full lineup of interesting racing cars, racing celebrities and fun activities that will be announced as they are finalized on both the Club\u2019s website: www.vrcbc.ca<\/a> and the event website www.bchmr.ca<\/a>, as well as through the press.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
