The compact car made its debut on March 21, 1964, as the successor to the former \u0160KODA Octavia. As the first \u0160KODA with rear-wheel drive, a rear engine and unibody construction, the \u0160KODA 1000 MB was a milestone in the nearly 119-year history of \u0160KODA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u201c\u0160KODA is one of the longest-established vehicle manufacturers in the world,\u201d says \u0160KODA CEO, Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. \u201cThe basis for the company\u2019s success is outstanding vehicles. The \u0160KODA 1000 MB was a key milestone for the company in the 1960s and an impressive testament to the great engineering skills of Czech automotive engineering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Around 443,000 \u0160KODA 1000 MBs were produced between April 1964 and August 1969, of which more than half were exported to locations as far away as New Zealand and Australia.
