\"\"<\/a>Canadian racer Al Pease passed away in early May at the age of 92. Pease, who was elected to the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1998, may be best known for racing the ex-Dan Gurney Eagle-Climax in the first three Canadian Grands Prix in 1967, \u201968 and \u201969, but his career prior to those outings is much more worthy of note. Racing a factory-assisted, supercharged MGB, Pease dominated his class on the Canadian club racing scene during the 1960s, winning five consecutive Ontario Regional Championships mid-decade, then added three further titles in a Mini Cooper S and a Lotus 23\u2014the latter car also having been loaned to Jim Clark, who drove it in the 1963 Players 200 at Mosport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
