In June, over 120 members of the group \u201cL\u2019Association de L\u2019Aventure Peugeot\u201d gathered in the south of England for a weekend of driving and adventure in their oftentimes rare French classics. After gathering at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel, Southampton, UK, owners enjoyed chatting about, showing and sharing the huge variety of cars in the afternoon sun while enjoying a very traditional British cream tea. The following day, they drove through the scenic New Forest to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu. Here they displayed their cars to the general public while enjoying the varied exhibits on offer, followed by a picnic in the grounds of the Museum.<\/p>\n

Club Peugeot UK Chairman Ian Kirkwood who, with Peugeot UK organized the event, added: \u201cIt was fantastic bringing together so many people who have such a vast knowledge of the product.\u201d The oldest car in the group was a 1922 Peugeot Type 173S, while other exotic examples included early 601 roadsters and the famed 402 \u201cDarl\u2019Mat.\u201d<\/p>\n

L\u2019Association de L\u2019Aventure Peugeot is a club for enthusiasts of the brand. Described as \u201cmuch more than a museum, an adventure,\u201d hence the name, it has its headquarters at the company museum in Sochaux, on the eastern edge of France near to the borders with Switzerland and Germany. For an annual fee starting at \u20ac24 (\u00a319.50) members get free access to the museum, reduced fees for special exhibitions and preferential rates for documents and technical manuals for old Peugeot models.
