More than 150 of the finest vintage automobiles in the\u00a0U.S. converged upon LeMay \u2013 America\u2019s Car Museum\u00a0(ACM) September 6\u20137 for the annual Pacific Northwest\u00a0Concours d\u2019Elegance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Pacific Northwest Concours has become one of the\u00a0premier events of its kind in the U.S. since its founding 12\u00a0years ago as the Kirkland Concours,\u201d said David Madeira,\u00a0president of ACM. \u201cWith ACM being the largest car museum\u00a0in North America, sitting on a 3.5-acre show field, we\u2019re\u00a0delighted to host an event of such grand scale.\u201d<\/p>\n
Featured classes for the concours included early and\u00a0significant BMWs and Ford Mustangs, as well as flathead\u00a0hot rods, \u201cAmerican tail fins,\u201d pre-WWII classics, pre-1920\u00a0Brass Era cars and others. After judges scrutinized rows of\u00a0cars on ACM\u2019s Haub Family Show Field, a 1928 Isotta\u00a0Fraschini Tipo SASS, owned by Peter Boyle of Covington,\u00a0Ohio, emerged as \u201cBest of Show.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis Isotta is among the best of its breed,\u201d said Madeira.\u00a0\u201cGiven the stiff competition, we recognize how well-earned\u00a0this award is.\u201d<\/p>\n
During the weekend, ACM presented its annual \u201cMaster\u00a0Collector Award\u201d on Peter Hageman, Al McEwan and Glenn\u00a0Mounger\u2014all renowned members of the international\u00a0vintage vehicle collector community. In conjunction with the\u00a0award, the museum opened a year-long exhibit in their\u00a0honor featuring vehicles from their collections, including a\u00a01926 Packard Model 236 Phaeton, 1930 Hispano Suiza H6C\u00a0d’Ieteren Freres Transformable and 1932 Packard 903 Super\u00a0Eight, formerly owned by famous Navy aviator Rear Admiral\u00a0Richard Byrd.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
