If you look around many of the historic racing paddocks today, especially those series that are at the top of the sport, you will see the highly polished truck of Hall & Hall. They regularly get an invitation from Lord March to attend both Goodwood events. The founder of the business is Rick Hall, whose early days were immersed in cars and all things mechanical. Living near Bourne in Lincolnshire, home of Raymond Mays and British Racing Motors, it\u2019s no surprise that he became involved with the team\u2014albeit a Jimmy Clark fan! Those up and down days in Formula One have stood him in good stead to be at the top of his game in the restoration and preparation of Grand Prix and sportscars. VR\u2019s European Editor Mike Jiggle took time to talk to Rick about his journey from schoolboy to BRM engine builder, his thoughts about Louis Stanley and his impression of the H16 engine.
