The Vintage Grand Prix is actually a 10-day outing with a number of related events culminating in the two-day vintage racing extravaganza. This year those events will feature the many magnificent marques of Italian heritage, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Abarth, Lancia and de Tomaso among others.<\/p>\n<p>Executive director Dan DelBianco describes the event: \u201cOur devoted volunteers transform 2.3 miles of winding city streets into a race circuit, then they convert a city park and\u00a0golf course into a grand\u00a0show field\u00a0for 2,000 cars and 150\u00a0tents so that\u00a0200,000 spectators can watch the vintage races and peruse\u00a0the International Car Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Given this year\u2019s Italian emphasis, a major element will be The Cortile, the Grand Prix\u2019s Italian Car Show. \u201cCortile\u201d translates into English as \u201ccourtyard,\u201d and this year the 18<sup>th<\/sup> fairway at the Bob O\u2019Connor Golf Course in Schenley Park will serve as the courtyard for the seventh edition of the all-Italian car show. It will be supplemented by the Fiat Club of America\u2019s 32<sup>nd<\/sup> annual gathering, the \u201cFreakOut,\u201d which runs from July 15 through 19, particularly appropriate this year because Fiat will be the\u00a0<em>Prioettore Macchina,<\/em>\u00a0the\u00a0spotlight marque, of the Cortile.
