It demonstrates an epic David and Goliath battle between the legendary Mercedes-Benz W196 and the Lancia D50, with examples of both machines on display. The W196 is on loan from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway\u2019s Hall of Fame Museum, while The Revs Institute is the D50\u2019s permanent home.<\/p>\n<p>Their battle 60 summers ago represents a golden moment in racing history, with the epic story coming to life through words, display cases, period images, video and sound, creating a superb multi-media experience.<\/p>\n<p>This intimate exhibit is part of Revs\u2019 steady approach to bring forward its belief that the automobile is the most important technological object of the 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century,\u201d explained Scott George, vice president of Revs. \u201cWhether the visitor\u2019s interest lies in history, technology, visual appeal, racing personalities, plain curiosity or simply being in the presence of greatness, The Rivals exhibit offers a unique educational experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The historic struggle will be played out again through this November, as the Institute presents this exhibit as part of The Collier Collection of more than 100 of the most influential automobiles ever created. The collection is open to the public Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Advance Reservations are necessary, with docent-led tours available.
