The third annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show is aiming to host the largest Shelby GT350 gathering in history on Saturday, May 16, including the new model from Ford Motor Company. In honor of the 50th<\/sup> anniversary of this historic car, Team Shelby is calling owners of all model years to display their steeds next to other Shelby and Ford powered high performance vehicles at the corporate headquarters in Gardena, Calif.<\/p>\n

The event will include a panel of Shelby GT350 experts, as well as historic displays from the new Carroll Shelby Automotive Museum. A portion of Mr. Shelby\u2019s personal car collection will be opened to the public and Carroll Shelby\u2019s Store will debut new products for the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first Shelby GT350 made history when it was launched in 1965 and 50 years later, we hope to do so again with a salute to this iconic car,\u201d said Joe Conway, CEO of Shelby American and co-CEO of Carroll Shelby International. \u201cWith the help of Team Shelby, LA SAAC, Mustang Club of America and others, this should be one of the most exciting gatherings of Shelby cars this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Wimbledon White and Guardsman Blue Shelby GT350 was unveiled at Riverside Raceway on January 27, 1965. Winning its first race weeks later, it quickly became a symbol of American performance, grit and ingenuity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we\u2019re planning the largest gathering of Shelby GT350s in history, we\u2019ll also exhibit Shelby Cobras and other significant Ford-powered performance cars,\u201d said Jenni Shreeves, Executive Director of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. \u201cThis event began as an annual tribute to Carroll and has evolved into a celebration of his lasting influence. We look forward to honoring Carroll\u2019s legacy with the many people who share his passion for American performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Team Shelby, Mustang Club of America and LASAAC will attend this official Team Shelby event.
