With a nod to this month\u2019s feature story about the Chateau Impney Hillclimb in Great Britain, we thought that a look at one of America\u2019s classic vintage hillclimbs might be in order. That event would be The Grand Ascent, which has been incorporated into Pennsylvania\u2019s The Elegance at Hershey, held this year on the weekend of June 12-14.<\/p>\n

The Home Page of this site tells the story of the event and how it has come to be included as the opening act of the annual concours, The Elegance at Hershey. Across the top of the page are links to tell visitors \u201cAbout\u201d the overall event, as well as the various other \u201cEvents\u201d that take place on the weekend. Another link provides information about \u201cTickets,\u201d while others provide \u201cNews\u201d items of interest, and information about \u201cCharities,\u201d \u201cSponsors,\u201d a \u201cVisitor\u2019s Guide\u201d and a \u201cPhoto\u201d gallery of past events.<\/p>\n

Hillclimbing is a unique experience that provides all the challenge of a road race without the potential dangers of wheel-to-wheel contact, and as such has developed an extensive and loyal following. The Grand Ascent is but one example that you should check out for yourself.<\/p>\n
