To celebrate the 60th anniversary of its ground-breaking DS, French manufacturer Citro\u00ebn organized a series of special events, in the French capital, at the end of May.<\/p>\n
The Opening Night of the DS WEEK was held at the Tuileries Gardens, where visitors were treated to a 4,000-sq.m. display highlighting generations of historic and significant DS models, including famous examples such as the DS21 driven by Patrick Baker in the American television series The Mentalist.<\/p>\n
A grand parade was also organized that had some 600 examples first taking to the famous track at Montlh\u00e9ry, followed the next day by a tour through the streets of Paris, where the procession passed the Quai de Javel and the Grand Palace (where, on October 6, 1955, the DS was first revealed to the public at the Salon Paris). But the highlight of the parade was undoubtedly the mass descent of the collected Citro\u00ebns down one of the most beautiful avenues in the world, the Champs-Elysees. Later, the procession was installed at Place de la Concorde for part of the day, where passing tourists and Parisians could take time to admire these unique pieces of French automotive history.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
