Stuttgart\u2019s Porscheplatz outside the Porsche Museum is now graced by the towering centerpiece sculpture by British artist Gerry Judah titled \u201cInspiration 911\u201d that features three 75-foot pillars, each topped by a Porsche 911. The sculpture offers a tribute to the history of the legendary automobile with examples from three different generations of the iconic model, an F-series from 1970, a G-series from 1981 and the current generation.<\/p>\n
The artwork was presented to the public this week with a spectacular lightshow that utilized the special architecture of the museum to entertain attendees. The display closed with the current model range of Porsche cars being showcased to the guests assembled in the grandstands.<\/p>\n
During his address to the gathering, Matthias M\u00fcller, CEO of Porsche AG, said: \u201cThe sculpture that we present today is more than a work of art. It is also a symbol for our company\u2019s close ties with Stuttgart.\u201d<\/p>\n
In recent years, Porsche has invested around \u20ac1 billion in facilities in the greater Stuttgart area, with an additional \u20ac1.1 billion earmarked for the recently established safeguarding of locations \u2013 a large proportion of which will be invested in Zuffenhausen.<\/p>\n
