The second Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille, which took place at the Chantilly Chateau just north of Paris last Sunday in a setting ideal for such a concours, welcomed 13,500 visitors, a 35 percent increase over the inaugural 2014 event. They were attracted by a program celebrating the art de vivre \u00e0 la Francaise,<\/em> and featuring 850 cars as well as numerous workshops and attractions specially organized for the occasion.<\/p>\n

By reviving the great French Concours d\u2019Elegance tradition dating from the 1920s, the Patrick Peter organized event was awarded the prize for the best motor car event in 2014. This year it was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Communications.<\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s pleasant weather enabled enthusiasts to feast their eyes on the 100 exceptional cars \u2014 all candidates for the Concours d\u2019Etat award \u2014 as well as the seven concept cars from manufacturers and some 40 clubs that were there to win the Grand Prix des Clubs.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a successful first event we focused on improving the details from last year that needed to be fine tuned so that we could present an event in 2015 that was even better organized,\u201d noted Peter \u201cI\u2019m happy to see that numerous collectors, in particular from abroad, came to visit us, and I\u2019m satisfied with the jury\u2019s decisions this year concerning the cars to which prizes were awarded. In my opinion the Best of Show that went to Mr. Evert Louwman\u2019s (the Louwman Museum) Mercedes-Benz 500 K Special Roadster and the 1st<\/sup> prize in the Concours d\u2019Elegance rewarding the BMW 3.0 CSL Homage R were totally justified.\u201d<\/p>\n

The third Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille will take place on September 4, 2016, and promises to be even better.<\/p>\n
