Six new inductees will be welcomed into the Sebring Hall of Fame at ceremonies held the day before next Spring\u2019s 64th<\/sup> running of the Mobil 1 12 Hours on the legendary Florida circuit. The six are Tom Kristensen, Sam Posey, Dick Smothers, Alex Job Racing, Tres Stephenson and Tom McEwen.<\/p>\n

Kristensen is Sebring\u2019s all-time victory leader with six 12-hour triumphs, and the now retired Danish driver also holds the record for overall wins at Le Mans with nine, six consecutively. Posey won the 1975 12 Hours driving for BMW, and also contested Formula One, Indycars, Can-Am, Formula 5000 and Trans-Am during his driving career before moving into the broadcast booth as a color commentator. Smothers, famed as the \u201csmart\u201d half of the Smothers Brothers comedy duo, scored two class wins at Sebring, while Alex Job Racing is the most successful team ever at Sebring, having scored 10 class wins in the track\u2019s annual Rite of Spring. Stephenson served as president and general manager of the Sebring facility for more than 30 years, only recently stepping down from his dream job, and McEwen, who died in 2011, was a great supporter of the track and its legendary event for more than 30 years as columnist and sports editor for the Tampa Tribune<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The induction dinner will take place Friday, March 18th<\/sup>, at the Chateau Elan Hotel and Conference Center on the grounds of the circuit, with the festivities emceed by Sebring Hall of Famer Derek Bell.
