A four-race 2016 calendar has been announced by Formula 5000 Drivers Association President Seb Coppola. Also revealed was a 2018 return to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as a featured race group. The F5000 races were among the most popular at this year\u2019s Rolex event, with more than 40 cars from all over the world taking part, and this obviously influenced the return.<\/p>\n

The 2016 schedule, however, begins at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on June 15-19 where F5000 will again be part of SVRA\u2019s Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational. The following month, Round 2 will take place on the weekend of July 14-17 at Elkhart Lake\u2019s Road America in Wisconsin, as part of the Weather Tech International Challenge with Brian Redman presented by Hawk. The season will conclude with a pair of September races, the first SVRA\u2019s U.S. Vintage Grand Prix at Watkins Glen on the weekend of September 8-11, and the finale at California\u2019s Sonoma Raceway on the weekend of September 30-October 2 as part of CSRG\u2019s annual Charity Challenge.
