Coachbuilt Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Bugatti entries will be among the headline offerings at the Gooding and Company Scottsdale 2016 auction, to be held January 29-30 in Scottsdale during Arizona Auction Week.<\/p>\n

A 1950 Ferrari 166 MM\/195 S Berlinetta Le Mans is among the headline consignments at Gooding’s 2016 Scottsdale auction. Built in 1950, chassis 0060 M is a competition Ferrari, based on the 166 MM\/195 S chassis with coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan. One of six examples of the Berlinetta Le Mans, this Ferrari was campaigned in Italian races by the factory and displayed by Luigi Chinetti at the 1950 Paris Auto Salon. Sold new to American sportsman Briggs Cunningham, 0060 M was raced at Sebring, Buenos Aires, Watkins Glen and Bridgehampton through 1952. Later owned by Road & Track<\/em> writer Henry N. Manney III, the Ferrari eventually made its way to the UK, where it took part in many European events including the Mille Miglia Storica and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Restored and presented in its original light blue livery, 0060 M is estimated to sell for $5,750,000 – $6,500,000.<\/p>\n

Another Ferrari offering is the 1966 330 GTC Speciale (Estimate: $3,400,000 – $4,000,000). Unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in 1967, the 330 GTC Speciale Pininfarina was one of four examples built. Chassis 10107 was initially sold to Maria Maddalena Da Lisca. The heiress of a prominent Tuscan family, Maria Maddalena was the wife of Italian pasta manufacturer Pietro Barilla, who was a friend of Enzo Ferrari. This car has been documented by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini.<\/p>\n

1966 Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

An Alfa Romeo designed and built by Carrozzeria Boano for display at the 1955 Torino Motor Show will also cross the auction block at the 2016 Gooding and Company Scottsdale sale. The 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900C SS Coupe Speciale<\/a> (Estimate Available Upon Request) features a futuristic wrap around greenhouse and other mid-century design elements. It was sold new in Italy and spent decades in the Mario Righini Collection. Recently displayed in the Postwar Preservation Class at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours, this unrestored, coachbuilt Alfa Romeo is being offered for the first time at public auction and will be sold without reserve.<\/p>\n

A further offering will be a 1931 Bugatti Type 49 Grand Sport. Among the first examples of the model, chassis 49119 was delivered new to England where it received Grand Sport coachwork by A.P. Compton & Co. Upon completion this Bugatti was presented at the 1931 Olympia Motor Show in London. With two registered owners from new, as well as a museum that did not register the vehicle, this matching-numbers, unrestored, Type 49 is preserved with its original saddle-brown interior. Offered for public sale for the first time, this Bugatti is estimated to fetch $550,000 – $750,000.<\/p>\n
