The roll came up snake eyes. In a way\u2014similar to what happened when Chevrolet started promoting a mid-engined Corvette\u2014the purists revolted, and Porsche kept the 911. While Chevrolet continues to show mid-engined concepts, it has never actually had the guts to put one into production.
