The landmark Miura was introduced as a rolling chassis at the 1965 Turin Auto Salon, and the new, mid-engine Lamborghini was a huge hit.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being shown without bodywork, orders were placed during the show, vindicating the three Lamborghini engineers who conspired to create the Miura, Bob Wallace, Gian Paolo Dallara and Paolo Stanzani. Working secretly after hours, they faced a tough sell to bring their clandestine mid-engine supercar project to life simply because the Miura concept was at odds with founder Ferruccio Lamborghini\u2019s original philosophy\u2014but it worked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Miura rewrote the rules,\u201d said Bill Warner, founder and Chairman of the Amelia Island Concours d\u2019Elegance. \u201cThe Commendatore had a talent for making enemies.
