{"id":495389,"date":"2016-04-01T02:03:15","date_gmt":"2016-04-01T09:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=28114"},"modified":"2024-02-26T20:28:16","modified_gmt":"2024-02-26T20:28:16","slug":"fast-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/fast-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Fast Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='memberful-global-teaser-content'>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Fast Women In Automotive Racing<\/h2>\n<p>Some years ago I was invited to talk \u201cmotor sport\u201d at a winter club evening in Bristol and the evening seemed to be going really well until I \u201cdropped a brick.\u201d It happened during the question period, and I was standing before my audience when someone asked, \u201cWhat do you think of women drivers?\u201d My reply was immediate and, I thought, amusing, for with a sweeping gesture of the hands (right to left) I replied, \u201cWomen drivers are either good or bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If I had not glanced from right to left, it would have been fine. As it was, a) I did and b) I smiled! It was not fine! A person of the opposite sex was deeply offended as, at the end of my gesture my eyes apparently alighted on her.
