Hope for Tomorrow will celebrate the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a black tie dinner at London\u2019s The Hurlingham Club on Wednesday May 18. The event is supported by Ford Motor Company, which is celebrating its return to Le Mans 50 years after its famous podium sweep victory in 1966 with GT40 MKIIs.<\/p>\n
\u201cFord is delighted to support Hope for Tomorrow in their \u2018Legends of Le Mans Dinner,\u2019\u201d noted Jay Ward, Ford of Europe\u2019s Product Communications Director. \u201cOur return to Le Mans with the new Ford GT is something very special for the whole company. History will always remember the famous 1-2-3 in 1966, and 50 years on it felt like the right time to return to one of the most magical race circuits in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Evening with the Legends of Le Mans will be hosted by journalist Jonathan Legard, with an accompanying Q&A session moderated by esteemed motor racing journalist Simon Taylor. Guests will enjoy anecdotes from legendary drivers such as Patrons Sir Stirling Moss OBE, David Richards CBE, Ross Brawn OBE, Derek Bell MBE and Martin Brundle. Also attending will be Richard Attwood, Marino Franchitti, Nick Mason, David Piper, Guy Smith, David Brabham and Andy Wallace.<\/p>\n
The evening will open with a reception and a showcase of iconic Le Mans cars on the grounds of The Hurlingham Club, with cars ranging from the early 1930s to present day and including Bentley, Porsche 962 and Aston Martin among many others.<\/p>\n
Activities will then move to the fabulous Broomhouse Suite for a three-course dinner with fine wines, and will conclude with a \u201cmoney can\u2019t buy\u201d racing-related live auction hosted by Bonhams\u2019 Malcolm Barber.<\/p>\n
