The one-day Historic Motor Sports Association (HMSA) event saw a selection of historic racing cars challenge the 11-turn, 2.238-mile road course in Salinas, California.<\/p>\n<p>The glorious sounds from a Ferrari V-12, Chevrolet V-8 and a flat-six Porsche were among those echoing off the hills around Laguna Seca at full song. HMSA&#8217;s annual LSR Invitational once again attracted some amazing cars, such a Ferrari 250P; Maserati 250F; Lancia LC2; Shadow DN4 Can-Am; McLaren M8FP Can-Am and Porsche 911 Carrera RSR; among others. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This testing session served as a tune-up for the upcoming two-day HMSA Spring Club Event, scheduled for April 9-10 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Drivers enjoyed four 20-minute sessions and a catered lunch where the bench racing was almost as good as what was happening on track.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<br \/>\nSimilar to <a title=\"2010 HMSA LSR Invitational\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/lsr-invitational-by-hmsa-report-and-photo-gallery\/\">2010<\/a>, <a title=\"2011 HMSA LSR Invitational\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/lsr-invitational-hmsa-2011-photo-gallery\/\">2011<\/a>, <a title=\"2012 HMSA LSR Invitational\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/hmsa-lsr-invitational-2012-report-and-photos\/\">2012<\/a>, <a title=\"2013 HMSA LSR Invitational\" href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/hmsa-lsr-invitational-2013-report-and-photos\/\">2013<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/hmsa-lsr-invitational-april-2014-report-photos\/\">2014<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/hmsa-lsr-invitational-2015-report-and-photos\/\">2015<\/a>, Sports Car Digest also documented the 2016 running of the HMSA LSR Invitational, with Senior Photographer Dennis Gray offering the following images highlighting the quality participants at this year&#8217;s March event.
