This year\u2019s 4th<\/sup> Annual Pinehurst Concours, scheduled for April 30 on the fairways of North Carolina\u2019s Pinehurst Resort, will showcase the Best in Show winners from the three previous events. Attendees will have an extraordinary opportunity to take a close look at the 1919 Pierce-Arrow Model 66 A-4 Tourer that was last year\u2019s winner, the 1931 Cadillac 452A that ruled the 2014 event and the 1938 Steyr 220 Glaser Roadster that claimed top honors in 2013.<\/p>\n

The 2015-winning Pierce-Arrow is owned by Georgia philanthropist and businessman Robert S. \u201cBob\u201d Jepson Jr., stands seven feet tall at its highest point, weighs 7,000 pounds, and was customized for silent movie actor Roscoe \u201cFatty\u201d Arbuckle. The previous year\u2019s champion, a 1931 Cadillac owned by 93-year-old Charles Gillet of Maryland, is one of 200 ever made, with only about a dozen still known to exist, while the top choice of the inaugural event \u2028\u2028in 2013, a 1938 Steyr owned by Pennsylvanian Peter Boyle, is one of but six ever made.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese three cars are pretty amazing champions for a concours that is only heading into its fourth year,\u201d added Pinehurst\u2019s chief judge, Nigel Matthews. \u2028\u2028\u2028All three cars will make grand entrances onto the showfield at 9:30 a.m., before being put on display for attendees to inspect while learning about their history with the cars’ proud owners.<\/p>\n
