It\u2019s a ride Dario Franchitti took from 1996 until 2013.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the way Dario, born in Bathgate, West Lothian on May 19, 1973, and whose family has profound Italian roots, won national and international kart championships, a Formula Vauxhall Junior title, raced Formula Three and scored top placings in Germany\u2019s DTM touring car championship. After that, off he went to the United States in 1996 at the behest of Mercedes\u2019 then motor sport boss, Norbert Haug.
