Barrett-Jackson Auctions staged its most successful inaugural auction last weekend at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut?, generating total sales of more than $26 million, 552 vehicles sold and a sell-through rate of 96 percent.<\/p>\n

Topping the sale was a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L88 that hammered sold for $624,000, with second-place honors taken by a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback at $346,500 and a 1967 Ferrari 330 GT bringing in $330,000 for the third-highest price.<\/p>\n

Six \u201ccharity cars\u201d were also sold, with 100 percent of the $605,000 proceeds from those sales benefiting charitable organizations. On Friday, the 2016 Shelby GT-H concept\/prototype sold for $150,000 to benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation, after Carroll\u2019s grandson Aaron drove the car onto the block.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur inaugural Northeast Auction was a tremendous success,\u201d said Barrett-Jackson president Steve Davis<\/a>. \u201cWe had a wonderful venue, an incredible docket of cars, great sponsors and an enthusiastic fan base \u2013 all of the things we needed to host a successful auction.\u201d<\/p>\n

The top ten sales during the auction featured a wide range of American muscle, European classics, exotic sports cars and one-of-a-kind customs.<\/p>\n
