The event will take place September 1\u20134 and feature an exciting lineup of performance cars and track events, as well as a Night at the Museum, the world\u2019s longest Mustang Parade, Saturday night\u2019s MCA Banquet and more.<\/p>\n<p>Indianapolis is the ideal setting for this celebration since the original Mustang was the pace car for the 1964 Indy 500 (above, Dave Friedman photo courtesy of the Henry Ford Museum), just weeks after its stunning world debut.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to celebrate the 40<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of MCA at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway,\u201d said Mustang Club President Jeff Mays. \u201cThis MCA celebration will be unbelievable as we honor four decades of our club\u2019s history. Enthusiasts from across the globe are planning to attend our larger-than-life event, as we share personal stories about Ford\u2019s legendary pony car.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 1976, 30 Mustang enthusiasts responded to an Atlanta newspaper ad providing the details of a meeting on April 11, 1976 at the Antique Car Museum in Stone Mountain, Georgia. That first meeting of the Mustang Club of America had 13 Mustangs on hand, while the 40th Anniversary, is expected to have more than 2,000 Mustangs in attendance. The club presently boasts more than 13,000 members, with nearly 200 chapters worldwide.
