Muscle cars dominated the top sellers at Mecum Auctions\u2019 inaugural Portland auction, held Father\u2019s Day weekend at the Portland Expo Center. Some 300 vehicles were hammered sold for a total of more than $9.3 million, with a 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 Fastback pulling in the highest bid of $305,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people of Portland were extremely welcoming, and the large crowds and strong bidding reflected their enthusiasm,\u201d noted Mecum president and founder Dana Mecum. \u201cPortland proved to be an excellent city for a Mecum auction, and holding it over Father\u2019s Day weekend gave families looking to celebrate a perfect place to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
