A silver 1960 Aston Martin DB4GT, one of only 75 factory-built examples, generated the highest bid of last weekend\u2019s 10th<\/sup> Anniversary London sale for RM Sotheby\u2019s, pulling in \u00a32,408,000 to establish a new world record for a factory-bodied Aston sold at auction. It was joined in the spotlight by a handful of cars from a single-owner Porsche Collection (above, Remi Dargegen photoourtesy of RM Sotheby’s) that broke a number of world auction records as RM Sotheby\u2019s enjoyed \u00a321.65 million in total sales from a 76-percent sell-through rate.<\/p>\n

The \u00a31,848,000 paid for a 1995 Porsche 911 GT2 represented a new public auction record for a 911 GT2, surpassing the previous mark by more than \u00a31 million, while the successful \u00a3974,400 bid for a 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Lightweight established a world auction record for a 964 series Porsche 911. Other new auction benchmarks were set by the \u00a3716,800 paid for a 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RS and the \u00a3403,200 brought in by a 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera RS Clubsport.<\/p>\n

A currency conversion rate of $1.34 per \u00a3 Sterling meant that seven of the London sales topped the $1 million mark, they were:<\/p>\n
