{"id":495958,"date":"2016-10-19T11:40:42","date_gmt":"2016-10-19T18:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportscardigest.com\/\/?p=37379"},"modified":"2023-12-08T03:02:01","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T03:02:01","slug":"matthew-gone-hilton-head-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/matthew-gone-hilton-head-go\/","title":{"rendered":"Hilton Head Island Concours (2016) &#8211; Matthew Gone, Hilton Head a GO!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew drenching the Savannah Coast earlier this month, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hhiconcours.com\/\">Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival &amp; Concours d\u2019Elegance<\/a> has announced that this year\u2019s event will not be disrupted by the storm and will continue as scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>That means that on the weekend of November 5-6 the grounds of the Port Royal Golf Club on South Carolina\u2019s Hilton Head Island will host a Concours d\u2019Elegance featuring the Pinnacle and Honored Collectors Miles Collier and Jeff Lane, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to welcoming sponsors, participants and attendees to this year\u2019s event,\u201d said Hilton Head Island Mayor David Bennett. \u201cIt represents a real opportunity to tell and show the world what \u2018Hilton Head Strong\u2019 really means. It\u2019s an opportunity to show how our community has come together in so many ways. Our history has been preserved, our present secured and our future is assured, and you can see it all at the Concours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hilton Head Island businesses and Motoring Festival partner hotels including its host hotel, The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort &amp; Spa, are fully operational and ready to accommodate those attending this year\u2019s Festival. Festival staffers are grateful to everyone who worked to make this year\u2019s Festival possible, with special thanks to the Town of Hilton Head, the Heritage Golf Group and Port Royal Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p>The Festival actually kicks off with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hhiconcours.com\/events\/savannah.html\">Savannah Speed Classic<\/a>, October 28\u201330, on the Grand Prize of America road course situated on the property of The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort &amp; Spa in Savannah, Georgia. The festivities continue on Hilton Head Island the following weekend, November 4-6, with Friday evening\u2019s Flights &amp; Fancy Aeroport Gala at the Hilton Head Island Airport General Aviation. The Flights &amp; Fancy Aeroport Gala will feature vintage aircraft, live music, food and refreshments.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s Car Club Showcase will populate the Port Royal Golf Club with nearly 200 cars and a number of exhibits \u2014 including this year\u2019s special exhibit, \u201cLife on the Silver Screen\u201d with the South Carolina Film Commission. Auctions America will add to Saturday\u2019s excitement with their 2<sup>nd<\/sup> annual Hilton Head Island Auction at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort &amp; Spa starting at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>The Concours d\u2019Elegance will conclude the weekend, taking center stage Sunday, November 6, at the Port Royal Golf Club.
