The &#8220;Spirit of Competition&#8221; is the theme of the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, and each year a motorsports figure with a specific inspirational message is selected to receive the award. This year, Dr. Frederick Simeone will present that award to Peter Brock.<\/p>\n<p>Brock\u2019s 60-year career in the automobile world began as a youngster when he was hired by Carroll Shelby. He soon designed the slick coupe body for Shelby\u2019s already successful Cobra that helped the team bring the United States its first World Sports Car Championship. He subsequently went to work at General Motors, helping Bill Mitchell\u2019s team of designers create the Corvette Stingray Grand Sport.
